I’m thinking of starting a new blog pretty soon. It will be a niche blog that has the potential of using the brand of the blog to leverage affiliate sales as well as direct advertising (Although this is by no way the topic of the blog, nor my initial thoughts of the blog).
Content for the blog will in the beginning most probably come from online resources but the most important factor I think is the amount of offline information that is not readily available but as I said, if the brand of the blog is used correctly, this information can “come out” - so to speak - and could be brought online. This is the mini goldmine I’m hoping to leverage. <evil laugh>
It will definitely take some work from my part to get the blog up and running with the initial content as well as setting up the channels that will make it possible for me to leverage some of the juicy offline content.
3 questions for you
- How much money have you spent on the launch (say in the 1st 3 months) of your money making blogs?
- What keyword tools do you use to find out if this niche is worth getting involved in?
- I know this has been done before, but would you be interested in me writing about my entire process from start to launch of this blog? (That’s if I go ahead with it.)

Unfortunately, I would really say I have the ability to answer #1 and #2, but to #3 I would say that it would REALLY be beneficial if you documented the whole process.
I’m always up for a lesson thanks to other people’s experiences…

Hi, There really isn’t any “hidden” costs when it comes to blogging. I started my first blog paying only $8 a month for hosting, but if you use services like wordpress.com or blogger.com, you can blog for free! However, making money from blogging you probably want to own your blog, so going with the free hosted services isn’t the best.
