Make money blogging in South Africa

Affiliate Marketing in South Africa

December 12th, 2007 · 6 Comments

I’m currently getting my hands dirty with affiliate marketing – but specifically targeted here in South Africa. I have been reading a lot of what Paul Bourque over at UberAffiliate has been talking about. All it comes down to is finding a niche product or affiliate offer, setup a decent landing page for the offer, spend some cash on Google Adwords or other keyword targeted traffic and run with it. Some of the most important steps he says are test, track and watching trends.

I’ve setup 2 domains for 2 offers I am going to be trying out. The 2 offers I found via TrafficSynergy, and no, they are not insurance or cash loans! Just remember, some offers are already so overcrowded, that trying to get your foot into the door and make any money off them can be a painful and very expensive process. Rather don’t waste your time!

Once I have the sites and up and running, I’ll go into a little more detail on the actual setup. Oh, and if I make ANY money, I’ll definitely let you know!

I’m just starting up blog myself focusing on getting value for money. Being a Scotsman by nature (just married to a Scotswoman actually) I am always looking for a good deal. Being a longtime Internet addict I always look on the ‘net first.

My first comment is – Thanks for all the content, this blog has really helped me (overall) as I am also trying to set up the adsense/affliliate income stream that will allow me to continue doing this.

Any success with the affiliates so far? a lot of my research leads to dubious results. Not a waste though as I will generate an article on it at later.

How many visitors do you get monthly on problogging? Is it worth the time?

I’m still fighting with the technical components on the site which I set up yesterday. As soon as I figure out trackbacks/pingbacks there are some articles here I need to list!

@Flytrap, all I can say is if you are going to setup a blog, rather focus on a semi-niche to niche market. The “Make Money Online” market is so oversaturated with copycats and the likes that it really isn’t worth it.

This blog is by far my least successful blog, but there are many factors that have contributed to that. I do have some ideas on where I should rather take this blog, so watch out for that sometime this decade. ;-)
